Flowcharts
How to draw flowcharts, mind maps, diagrams and database models in the Flow editor, share by link, use the AI, and import and export in several formats.
Flow is a diagram editor on an infinite canvas. It serves process flowcharts, mind maps, sequence diagrams, schedules and even database schemas, all in the same document. Under Flowcharts you see the team’s list; + New creates a blank flowchart and opens the editor right away.
Build the diagram
Use + Add node (or find the type by typing in “Search node type…”) to insert elements. The catalog is organized in sections:
- Visual: the ready-made shapes Start, Process, Decision and End, the Free shape (19 shapes), Note (sticky), Divider, Group and Frame.
- Content: Code, List, External link, Title, Image, Timeline (Gantt), Mind map and Radial mind map, Comment, Table and Sequence diagram.
- Icons, Geometry and Math: icons, geometric constructions with constraints, and formulas.
- Automation (n8n) and Database: workflow nodes and tables with editable columns and indexes.
Select an object to edit its properties in the Inspector on the right panel (Ctrl+. collapses or opens the panel); the Layers tab controls visibility, locking and order of nodes. The toolbar has Copy, Cut, Paste, Undo (Ctrl+Z) and Redo (Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y), the Layout menu (Align, Distribute, Snap and alignment Guides) and the Draw mode, for handwriting; when you finish with Esc, the stroke becomes a static SVG image. The Keyboard shortcuts panel lists the keys for tools, zoom and editing, which are ignored while you type in a field.
Save, history and live editing
Save stores the flowchart; the indicator shows “unsaved changes”, “saving…” or Saved. If you try to leave with pending changes, the screen asks Leave without saving or Save and leave. History lists versions and lets you activate an older copy without losing lineage; Backup restores a version kept locally in your browser. The Live badge indicates live sync with other people editing; if Offline appears, changes are saved but not yet broadcast. Duplicate creates a new flowchart from the current state, without history.
Share
Share opens three link modes:
- Public: anyone with the link;
- By email: only opens for someone signed in with that email;
- Temporary: with an expiry date; after it the link returns 410 Gone.
Choose the Access: View only or Can interact. With the second, the visitor can drag and edit locally, but nothing is saved on the server. The dialog lists the Active links with Copy and Revoke. The general model of public links is in public area and external assignees.
AI, import and export
The AI button opens Axuz AI: describe in natural language what to change (for example “add a SAP group with a Database sub-group and a list”) and the patch is applied to the document. Regenerate resends the last request and Undo AI reverts the last patch. If the AI is not configured on the server, or the hourly message limit is reached, the panel says so.
Import accepts Templates, a MySQL/PostgreSQL database schema, an n8n workflow, a Mermaid diagram (graph TD/LR), a .json file exported from Axuz Flow and .canvas. Export produces Axuz Flow (.json), Markdown, Obsidian Canvas, PDF, PowerPoint, Figma (.json), n8n and, for database models, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Prisma, Drizzle and DBML.
